CONCHUR started as something pretty simple, really. A name. A love of dogs. A vague idea that kept hanging around in the back of my head until it turned into something I couldn’t ignore anymore.
The name itself matters to me. CONCHUR is my name, and in Irish it means lover of hounds. That felt like more than a coincidence. It felt like a proper starting point. Not just for a clothing brand, but for something that could grow into a much bigger idea over time. Something rooted in dogs, home, and the kind of life I’d actually want to build.
At the heart of it, CONCHUR is about dogs and the people who love them. But I don’t want it to feel like a typical pet brand. I want it to feel premium, sporty, and a bit more considered than that. Clothes you’d actually want to wear every day. Pieces that feel clean, strong, and easy. The sort of stuff that works on a walk, in town, or just for the kind of normal life that somehow ends up being the best bit anyway.
There’s also a bigger picture behind it all. I’ve always had this idea of a proper dog haven at the home farm one day. Not in some abstract, far-off way, but as a real thing to work toward. CONCHUR is part of that. It’s one of those projects that carries a bit of a bigger dream inside it. I like that. I think brands are better when they mean something beyond the product itself.
Right now, CONCHUR is still at the beginning. That’s kind of the exciting part. It’s not meant to be rushed. I want it to grow properly, with a clear identity and a strong point of view. Something that feels Irish, personal, and built with a bit of care. Not loud. Not gimmicky. Just honest, decent, and recognisably its own thing.
So that’s the vision for now: a clothing brand inspired by dogs, shaped by Irish identity, and built around a longer-term dream that goes way beyond a t-shirt or a sweatshirt. This is just the start, but I think it’s a good start.
